Task is one of the most useful features OpenLanguage has to offer. Not only does it provide extra practice for each lesson, but it also connects you directly with our OpenLanguage Community! How? Simple, after completing a task and uploading it to our website, it will be visible in the discussion section for your fellow OpenLanguage users to review and comment on! At the moment, tasks are only available for OpenLanguage English and Spanish.
Below you'll find a simple tutorial to teach you how to use "Task". Enjoy!
1. Open a Lesson and click on the "Task" tab. Read the instructions and complete the exercise you are requested (It might be recording a video or audio of you speaking the language, a small written essay, etc.). Then click on Upload Work at the bottom of the task.
2. When the upload window pops up, click on "Upload New File" (1), select the file you wish tu upload, and click "ok". On the "Note" (2) section you can write a small message describing or introducing your task to the OpenLanguage community. When you're done, click "Submit" (3).
3. To see the tasks that have been uploaded by you or others for a specific lesson, simply click on the "Discuss the Lesson" button below the lesson's main player. Then when done, click the button again. Now it says "Return to Lesson Review".
4. You can also comment, reply, download, and share all tasks in the discussion section!
